Casey's General Store....

No, I am not doing an infomercial for Casey's General Store....Well, I am, I guess, but I'm not getting a dime for it....

I first remember seeing Casey's stores with their down-home country logo in my travels to Illinois and Iowa decades ago. Now, Casey's has slowly made its way to my turf: Ohio.

I used to travel a lot and during that time I developed too deep of an affection for convenience stores. My favorite are the clean, brightly lit ones with plenty of car snacks to choose from. Casey's fit the bill then and it does even more so today. Man, was I excited to discover that there is now a Casey's in my own backyard, the town of Trenton, Ohio.

I stopped there with my girls after a recent outing and we split a cold cup of lemonade and I took them inside the cool store on a blistering hot day.

My favorite convenience stores are, I think:

1) Sheetz

2) QT

3) Casey's

4) Family Express

5) Turkey Hill
