This sounds like a wonderful haystack recipe. Something for everyone. Could you send the lemon recipe from yesterday. I missed it. Also I made the mock lemon/vinegar pie it was great tasting but was low in the pie shell. What did I do wrong. Hanks. Becky

Becky, it is always low in the shell for me too. Did you use an 8″ or 9″ crust?
The lemon pie voting was yesterday, but the recipe will be posted tomorrow, so stay tuned!:)

interesting. I always thought of the haystack as an individual thing one did on their dinner plate with whatever was being served. this would drive my brother nuts as he will go to the extreme of having AN ITEM at a time on his plate if there is any danger of things moving to touch each other.
I still say my cousin and I having mashed potatoes with noodles and lima beans and cottage cheese with chips on the side were the very best stacks. (my daughter loves this also)

I, too, can’t wait to see the lemon pie recipe. Sounds like a perfect Springtime recipe. On the other hand, your haystack recipe didn’t do anything for me – I just can’t stand beans in anything. But I guess that is the beauty of the haystack, only put on your haystack the things you love! The dressing that they pour over the whole thing does sound interesting!
