Welcome to the weekend, which means it is trending recipes time!

    🥗 Trending Amish Salads

    Amish Cornbread Salad 2 - Amish365

Easy Amish Cornbread Salad: Check out this super recipe - This is a cornbread salad and is quite popular in Amish kitchens. The recipe is pretty simple. You can make it super simple by buying cornbread, I suppose. Or you can make your own.  We have some great simple recipes on this website for cornbread. You can use whatever kind of cornbread you prefer. Some people like a dry, crumbly cornbread, others like a more buttery bread. The only time I like dry crumbly cornbread is if I bathe it with butter. Click here for the recipe.

Summer Melon Fruit Salad: It's not summer, but melons are still in full swing in many places. Check out the salad here.

    🍲 Trending Amish Main Dishes

Amish Oven-Fried Chicken: Chicken like this is so popular in Amish kitchens. Read: long before Col. Sanders came along and made fried chicken an American culinary pillar, Amish cooks were frying up their own poultry in their own way.  Yoder's Restaurant in Sarasota, Florida is legendary for their pressure- fried chicken,   Click here for the recipe.

    Easiest Roast Chicken Ever

Easiest Roast Chicken Ever: Here is more about this recipe:

An Amish woman in Mississippi (of which there aren't that many, maybe only about 20 families live there) sent me with this lofty title "easiest roast chicken ever."  Hmmmm, that is a pretty high aspiration.  I guess some of you are just going to have to try it and let me know if it passes the test. From what my parents said, this chicken hits that mark.

There is an Amish community near the town of Pontotoc, Mississippi in the far northeastern part of the state. This is a very conservative settlement of Swartzentruber Amish (the Swartzentruber Amish are among the most conservative, they reject plumbing, electricity in all forms and are generally more closed off) . '

Old-Fashioned Sausage Pie: Delicious...here's a bit more about this recipe: Sausage is a prized pork product among most Amish cooks.  You generally won't see Amish shoppers grabbing a package of bulk Bob Evans sausage at the supermarket. Most Amish cooks have their own ready supply of home-sourced sausage, either from their own home-raised hogs or from friends and family.  Sausage-making can be a messy job,but the end result is wonderfully flavored meat that soothes and fills. Click here for the recipe.
