Scalloped Corn Casserole: This is a delicious recipe, a celebrated side dish. Here's a bit more about it: I'm getting nostalgic just thinking about creamed corn, I might have to buy a can just for old-time's sake. Canned cream-style corn is often found at Amish bulk food and bent and dent stores, of which there are many in the Berne community, so this is probably why this recipe gained popularity over the years. It is also very simple, which tends to fall in line with that settlement's style. Click here for the recipe.

Amish Grape Pie: This is an amazing pie, definitely one worth a try. Here's a bit more about it: grape pie is something that I've heard about in Amish kitchens ever since I began doing this 25 years ago. Grape pie occasionally shows up on the menus at weddings and I saw some being served at an Amish benefit supper not all that long ago. I was excited to see it, so I grabbed the last two slices. But, man, it was good and grapey. So if you find yourself with an abundance of grapes, I'd encourage you to try grape pie.
Classic Amish Carrot Cake: I love this one too. Click here.
