"Crack" Green Beans, they are good...addictive, you find recipes like this - bacon and green beans -in Amish kitchens!

CRACK GREEN BEANS:  This is a bacon-infused green bean dish that I saw on Dixie's Kitchen website.  Many Amish cooks feature a VERY similar recipe.   If you like green beans and you like bacon, this is your calling card! Click here for the recipe.

AMISH HERITAGE TRAIL:  If you are itching to get out, well, you can do what Amish Indiana did and do the Amish heritage trail.   You don't have to leave your car, you can check out the Amish ambiance and follow the map.  Most attractions, though, in northern Indiana are shuttered.  Now, you will, I am sure, still see some Amish selling eggs from their home.  Whether you choose to do something like stop by and purchase eggs is up to you.  I'd probably not, but I know groceries are essential in this time and you'd be helping an Amish family economically. So, tough call. Click here.

INSIDE AN AMISH LOG HOME:  Here's a great post from Amish America with some photos inside an Amish log home.  I've seen Amish log homes - been inside a couple - in Pearisburg, Virginia and also the Amish settlements in Montana feature some log homes.  Surprisingly spacious inside, a far car from the mud and log home that, for instance, Abraham Lincoln was born in....click here to take a look.

MENNONITE IMPOSSIBLE PIE:  The Southern Lady Cooks features an amazing sounding and looking pie from Mennonite country. Click here for this recipe!

BLOG SPIN - MENNONITE OATMEAL PIE WITH MAPLE SYRUP:  Man, long time followers of this website know how much I like oatmeal pie, but I stumbled upon this blog post that features it with maple syrup as an ingredient! Most of the recipes I see call for corn syrup, but this one calls for maple. I'd have to think that would be a step up from corn.  Take a look at the recipe here!
