Amish autumn and winter weekend recipes take on a different flavor than their summer counterparts. Summer weekend recipes will be full of garden freshness. Autumn and Winter recipes are much more meat-oriented, with biscuits, thick stews, and other foods that'll just "stick to you" during the frigid days. These 5 Autumn Amish Farmhouse Recipes fit that bill!

I can attest first-hand that an Amish farm in the middle of winter often feels like the coldest place on earth. There's little escape from the cold unless you can get around the stove. There you'll find a cozy circle of warmth, but that's about it. That's what autumn is such a treasured time on Amish farms. You aren't quite into the freezer of winter, yet the huge amount of summer chores are basically done and after the first frost, the harvest shuts down. So right now, on many Amish farms, it is an enjoyable time. Here are 5 Autumn Amish Farmhouse Recipes that make the season all the more tasty!
