Labor Day marks the final bookend of summer before autumn rhythms settle in and the days grow progressively shorter. Many Amish will mark the occasion will a well-deserved day off, some fishing, and perhaps a picnic.

If a picnic is on the agenda, you might find one of these favorites on the menu!
HOMEMADE CORNBREAD SALAD: Mmmm, this is a favorite from Gloria. Check it out here!
AMISH PEPPERED DEVILED EGGS: What a refreshing treat to eat! Click here.
AMISH GRILLED CHICKEN: This is a great grilled chicken formulation given to me by an Amish man.
HOMEMADE STRAWBERRY PUDDING: This is a super refreshing recipe given to me by a Mennonite woman in Tennessee.
MENNONITE FRUIT DESSERT: I've posted this recipe before, but it is such a good one for a summer picnic, I'll post it again!
