This baked Amish Swiss Cheese Chicken is full of flavor, and very easy to make.

Most Amish farmhouse kitchens have an abundance of fresh chicken on hand. It’s an easy, flavorful, versatile meat to fix. And there are literally thousands of recipes out there for simple chicken fixes. This is one of them
Most Amish cooks, especially younger moms and dads, are in a hurry and don’t have a lot of time.
This recipe comes to us from an Amish woman in Illinois. Interestingly, one of the ingredients it calls for is “white wine” or water. You can use either, the wine gives it a touch more flavor.
Often outsiders are surprised to find wine in an Amish kitchen. Not everyone has it, but there’s no taboo against it. No religious restriction against it. I’ve enjoyed a wonderful sip or two of homemade dandelion wine at an Amish home.
And having a bottle of wine on hand for cooking, is also a favorite among some Amish.
Wine adds a super flavor to chicken and some types of beef.
If you don’t have white wine on hand for this, just use water.
Of course, if you hate Swiss cheese, you can use another type of cheese. I guess then you call it “cheddar chicken “or something like that. The Swiss cheese, however, just really works well with this blend of flavors. You get this delicious creamy chicken, when the Swiss melts. But Swiss does have a bit of an edge to the taste that some don't care for, unlike a milder Colby or cheddar. So I’ll leave the type of cheese you use up to you. The recipe will work with whatever type of cheese you want, but I think it works best with Swiss.
And for the "herb stuffing mix", you can use something like this (not an affiliate link, I was just trying to find an example). Or you can make your own. Many Amish cooks would make their own stuffing and just use that, but I was trying to save you all some time.
The Swiss cheese adds the best flavor, in my opinion!
Put the stuffing in a sealed plastic bag and using a rolling pin or a cylinder of some kind to crush it.
This is a delicious meal, easy and super fast to fix. The white wine adds a wonderful hint of flavor!
This is an amazing meal full of creamy flavor!
