Okay, I have a "grab bag" post today....we'll see what happens.

    ABANDONED MENNONITE HOUSE

I can't get this video out of my head for some reason.  I guess because I just moved and we made sure everything was out of the house.  But these people?  It's like they gathered everything up in a hurry and left, leaving a significant haul behind.  So many unanswered questions...do they still own the house but they just had to leave for awhile? What happened to the people?  The house and the countryside look so bucolic.  Hopefully the former occupants of this house are well wherever they are.  This house is in Canada somewhere.  Click here for the YouTube video tour of this abandoned Mennonite home.

    Mennonite School Cookbook

LINVILLE MENNONITE SCHOOL CHURCH COOKBOOK - PARADISE, PA -  This is probably a typical church cookbook, but Paradise is home to a large and old Amish settlement and Mennonite community. I imagine many recipes in this book are typical church cookbook fare, but you'll also, I suspect, find some real gems that showcase old, traditional Pennsylvania Dutch food.  Click here to snag a copy of the book.

AMISH CHURCH PEANUT BUTTER SPREAD - WITH A TWIST:  What could possibly be better than typical Amish church peanut butter spread made with PB and marshmallow fluff?  Nothing.  Well, yes, add CHOCOLATE to it.  Wow, I found this chocolate version of the church spread. I think I'm in heaven. Click here to check it out.

CORN RELISH: This is Amish-made corn relish from Arthur, Illinois. Pass the tortilla chips please! Click here.

A Visit to the Lindsay, Ontario Amish:  Not as far north as you might think! Click here.

Mennonite Caramel Cake:  Wow, this is good! Click here.

    Delicious cheeseburger salad...

After-Church Cheeseburger Salad:  Bring this to the picnic this summer!
