We are now into September and we'll see if we can get some seasonal favorites trending!
🥣Trending Amish Soups

Amish Rivel Soup: Perhaps it is the first nip in the air that is causing a soup to trend. But rivel soup is a good summer soup too. I love this soup! Check out Amish Rivel Soup here.

Company Potatoes: This is a nice meal. You could eat this by itself as a meal or as a side dish. Check out the recipe here.
Amish Yummasetti Casserole: Here is a bit about this classic: Amish Yummasetti Casserole is a staple in most Amish cookbooks printed in the 70s and 80s. The canned soups are not anathema to Amish of a certain age and era. Gloria doesn't use them, she uses homemade equivalents. But many Amish would relent and use the canned soups and that is fine. Yummasetti seems to be a period knock-off of the popular "Johnny Marzetti" Click here for the recipe.
Amish Vegetable Potluck Pizza Deluxe: This is a super recipe, here is a bit more about it: Vegetable pizzas are a "go to" recipe for Amish cooks, especially during the summer when picnics and potlucks are plentiful. It is not uncommon to find 3 or 4 different varieties of veggie pizza being served. Instead of heating up an un-airconditioned house by baking a pizza, the cooler, lighter fare of a vegetable pizza is appealing (you do have to heat up the crescent rolls that go with this). If you must be a carnivore, you can add some bacon bits to this. But, really, you won't miss the meat. The cheeses add plenty of protein and heft to this pizza. Click here for the recipe.
Bacon-Wrapped Steaks: This is a perfect recipe for summer holidays! Click here.

Amish Green Tomato Pie: This is a delicious summer dessert. Use up your green tomatoes before the first frost with this recipe. Click here.
Amish Raisin Pie: Even if you don't like raisins, you might like this pie! Interesting, I'm just not a huge raisin fan so when I first had the opportunity to taste raisin pie I was not overly eager. But the version that I've had is a custardy, creamy, thick mixture that encases the raisins, so you really don't get overpowered with a bunch of raisins. In other words, the pie really works. You don't come away with a mouthful of hot raisins, just wonderful goodness. Click here for Amish raisin pie.
