    Classic Amish Cinnamon Rolls

Classic Cinnamon Rolls: This is an amazing recipe. Here is a little more about it:

I've become quite the Amish cinnamon roll connoisseur over the years. I have the expanded jeans size to prove that. SIGH. I've tasted caramel pecan cinnamon rolls, pumpkin cinnamon rolls, and coffee-iced cinnamon rolls. But I keep coming back to basics as my favorite, your classic, tried-and-true white-iced cinnamon rolls. The icing is key but so is the filling. Nothing worse than a dry cinnamon roll inside.  And nothing beats homemade cinnamon rolls. SIGH, I have tried store-bought cinnamon rolls and they just can't compare.  Yeah, those Pillsbury rolls in a can will do in a pinch, but only in a pinch.  They just aren't the same as the fluffy cinnamon rolls that are true to Amish tradition. Amish Super Seven Layer Salad: This is a seasonal favorite. Here's a bit more about this:

This Amish super seven-layer salad recipe is popular and a staple at church gatherings and potlucks.  I've always enjoyed them with their hearty layers of peas, lettuce, cheese.  So you'll love the Amish seven-layer salad recipe below. I'm not sure I've ever stood there and counted the layers and it's possible some corner-cutting cook has shorted me on a layer from time to time, but I do enjoy the salad. Click here for the recipe.

Amish Johnny Marzetti: This is a hearty, fun casserole. Here is more about it:

Johnny Marzetti Hamburger Casserole is really just a casserole of tomatoes, noodles, ground beef, and some other basic ingredients. But like any recipe that gets passed around, people tinker with it and the dish has become quite popular among the Amish with various versions found. This is particular recipe is called "Jon-Zetti" in an Amish cookbook that I found. And there is also a popular Amish version known as "Yum-A-Zetti."

Mouth-Watering Steak Strips: A delicious recipe, here is more about it:

When I was growing up, steak was considered the “gold standard” of meat. Probably still is. The whole debate around ethical meat, the price of meat, the sourcing and supply chains, plant-based meat, I feel like everything has scrambled the landscape from what it used to be. But among the Amish, steaks have always been a prized cut of meat. The Amish, for the most part, are avid home butchers, so they use every part of the cow.  I was talking to a man from Alabama the other day he said that when they butcher hogs they use “everything but the squeal. That’s generally the same view that the Amish employ. When it comes to the cow, they use everything but the “moo.” Nothing goes to waste, and certain cuts of meat are prized more than others, including nice thick juicy steaks.

The bishop's chocolate pie, topped with a nice dollop of whipped cream is a perfect summer dessert.
