This is one of these wonderfully unique comfort food dishes that I put together after visiting some Amish farms recently. On the one of the visit I picked up some pear preserves, or as they called it "pear butter", which has a slight spice to it to temper the sweet of the pear.
The chicken part of this recipe is easy, you spread some pear butter on each side of a chicken breast or chicken thigh. Spread it generously all around and then place on a hot grill. The heat will caramelize the pear butter so that you get this wonderful glaze. The glaze will blacken quickly if you leave it over the heat, but that is OK, the taste is amazing as you get a swirl of sweet and spice in the caramelized pear butter.

The egg noodles were a bag that I bought while visiting an Amish bakery recently. The noodles are all homemade, cut by hand, and so, so good. You can truly tell a difference in the taste of these handmade, homemade noodles versus store-bought factory. I stirred in some corn and tomatoes and piled on the chicken and it was a super summer meal.

There are variations on this type of recipe. You could experiment with peach preserves or even strawberry, they would all give you a wonderful caramelized glaze with slightly different flavor profiles. Enjoy!
