Syrup season is coming to an end or is over in most areas, but that doesn't mean you still can't still find yummy ways to use your syrup.  Tapping trees is a popular pasttime among the Amish.  Gloria's brother has a pretty sophisticated tree tapping operation and they come up with the best Flat Rock Maple Syrup.  It's some yummy stuff!
Try this easy, easy, easy pie recipe that is infused with the rich taste of maple!

Amish Maple Cream Pie

Serves: 1 pie
Ingredients
- 1 can condensed milk
- ⅔ c. maple syrup
- Pinch salt
- TOPPING
- 2 c. whipping cream
- ½ c. powdered sugar
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- Pinch salt
- chopped pecans
Instructions
- Cook milk, maple syrup, and salt on low heat, very slow, stirring constantly until it bubbles in the middle.
- Pour into a baked pie shell.
- Chill for 1 hour.
- Whip ingredients until thick.
- Pour on top of pie filling and sprinkle with chopped pecans and let chill overnight.
