I have written before about my nostalgic affinity for Kmart.  It's just one of the last old-line retailers still standing, but they are bleeding money and watching them now is like watching this awful slow-motion collapse.  A new list of Kmarts (and a few Sears) that will be closing this year was posted yesterday. Here is the list courtesy of USA Today.  Any stores near you on the list?  Two are near me: Springboro and Eaten, Ohio.  My hometown had one but it closed over 5 years ago, now the two closest are closing.  It's not like I ever really went to those, but it was sort of comforting to know in the farthest corners of my mind that in the unlikely event I ever needed a Kmart, there was one close by. I think next time I see a Kmart, I am going to go in and buy something just to partake in a little nostalgia, because I doubt the chain survives much longer. I wrote a longer post a few years ago about Kmart on my "personal blog"....I was keeping that blog to write about "off topic" type stuff so that Amish365 wouldn't become cluttered with stuff like, well, my thoughts about Kmart.....maybe I should revive that blog?  Click here to read the Kmart post on my old blog.  I didn't even know it was still up and functioning. LOL, now I just have to remember how to login!
Bonanza Steakhouse, alive and well!
Now, on the topic of nostalgia, I saw this restaurant while I was traveling. Â I didn't even know these still existed! Â But this one was open. Â There used to be a Bonanza in my hometown, but it closed probably 30 years ago. Anyone have a Bonanza near them?
