🥗 Trending Amish Salads & Relishes

Cucumber Relish: I remember stumbling upon this home-based Amish "cannery" where an Amish woman and her small staff were churning out cans and cans of wonderful relishes. And she was nice enough to share her recipes. Check out this delicious one here.

Easy Chicken Salad: This is a super simple - and flavorful - salad, more about it here:

This is about the easiest chicken salad recipe you'll find. I'm not sure what qualifies this as an "Amish recipe" per se, but Amish cooking and baking is known for its simple elegance and this Easy Amish Chicken Salad qualifies as that. Easy Amish Chicken Salad is a "base recipe", you can add your own touches. Feel free to add some chopped hard-boiled egg, some brown mustard, barbecue sauce, and on and on, you can add endless twists and variations to this. But if you choose to just use this recipe, I doubt you'll be disappointed, because the flavor is perfect. Liquid smoke would probably enhance it, but I didn't have that on hand and it was still amazing.

    Easy Chicken Salad.

    Finished Ham Loaf

Amish Ham Loaf: Delicious meal. More about it here: This post features a classic homemade Amish ham loaf recipe. Homemade ham loaf is a favorite on the menu in most Amish communities around the holidays. Most Amish don't have a Honeybaked Ham store nearby so they'll dip into their own supply of home butchered pork, which includes ham, sausage, pork chops, and other cuts. Amish Ham Loaf.

Cheesy Beefy Macaroni Casserole: Click here for this super casserole.

Old-Fashioned Sausage Pie: This is a super supper, read a bit more:

Sausage is a prized pork product among most Amish cooks.  You generally won't see Amish shoppers grabbing a package of bulk Bob Evans sausage at the supermarket. Most Amish cooks have their own ready supply of home-sourced sausage, either from their own home-raised hogs or from friends and family.  Sausage-making can be a messy job,but the end result is wonderfully flavored meat that soothes and fills. Old-Fashioned Sausage Pie.

    🥧 Trending Amish Desserts

Amish Cashew Crunch: I'm really surprised to see this recipe trending. It usually does the best around Christmas. But is it Christmas in July?

    Amish Sawdust Pie

Amish Sawdust Pie: This is a wonderful pie that has been putting up fine numbers this past week: This pie is popular in parts of the southern USA where it is a family favorite in places, you'll find it on restaurant menus in Kentucky sometimes. But Sawdust Pie is also popular among the Amish.  The pie crust can be made using this delicious and easy pat a pan recipe.   No rolling out a pie dough with that method. I use a 9-inch pie pan and flute the crust edges for a prettier crust.   And you just douse this pie in all sorts of goodies, if the pie isn't sweet enough for you, bury it in banana slices and a caramel sauce. Click here for Sawdust Pie.

Sour Milk Cake: This is one of the best, most moist cakes. Click here.
