🥣 Trending Amish Soups

Hearty Ham & Cheese Soup: This is perfect for a cold autumn evening. Here is a bi more about this soup: This soup, like many Amish favorites, is pretty versatile.I think if you wanted to add some peas or even some broccoli, why not? I’ve never heard of ham and broccoli soup, but why wouldn’t it work? so feel free to use your imagination a bit with the soup, I think it’s a good one and, of course, the Italian in me, I would have a big piece of crusty bread with this. 🍲 Trending Amish Meals
Farmers Hearty Casserole: This is a delicious meal, here is more about it: This Farmer's Hearty Casserole reminds me of some of the more turn-of-the-century (turn of the 20th century) traditional dishes you’d find being served in an Amish home. There’s no cans of cream of mushroom soup in this, this is all basically scratch-made or home-raised stuff. In the early 20th century, actually up until the mid-20th century, the vast majority of Amish men were farmers. And it was hard hard work. Click here for the Farmers Hearty Casserole.
Amish Sunday Church Casserole: This is an old-standby among the Amish, delicious! Click here.
Oven-Baked Round Steak: This is another American classic, equally enjoyed in Amish and English kitchens, check it out.
🎂 Trending Amish Desserts
Amish Swiss Roll Bars: Oh, wow, oh wow...here is a little bit more about this one: a layer of white cream encased in moist chocolate sweetened with, of all things, applesauce! Sort of reminds me of the old Hostess "Suzy Q's" more than a Swiss roll. Either way this is an amazing dessert and I can see why it is a favorite in Amish kitchens. Click here for the recipe.
Apple Pie Bars: A seasonal favorite, full of delicious apple flavor. So good. Click here for this autumn classic.
