We are now half way through March and spring is starting to spring. What does that mean for trending recipes? Let's see which recipes are leading the way in searches to Amish365:

    🍞 Trending Amish Breads

Sourdough Buns: Delicous Amish go-to bread recipe! Click here.

    🍳 Trending Amish Breakfast

Hearty Breakfast Casserole: Here is a bit more about this recipe - this Amish breakfast casserole is an easy dish to make.  This is one of my favorite Amish recipes just because it is so traditional.  The proportions and ingredient order somehow combine to create a delicious, comforting casserole.  This easy stir and bake recipe comes to us from an Amish woman in the Berne, Indiana community.  Amish breakfast casserole recipes are a dime a dozen in Amish settlements, they all are fairly similar.  I mean, some add garlic powder or flour to the eggs, or sour cream or cream cheese to their recipes.  Each family seems to have their own "secret family recipe" variations. Click here for the recipe.

Amish Mashed Potato Doughnuts: These doughnuts are so, so good. Here is more about them: Homemade doughnuts are common in Amish kitchens, an easy, sweet staple to start the day or to celebrate an occasion.  I remember once visiting an Amish home in rural Michigan (It was Valentine's Day) and the Amish woman had made heart-shaped glazed-doughnuts which were on a wooden rack (much like the photo pictured here) dripping hot glaze.  She offered me one and wow, oh wow, they were amazing.  I wish I had had my camera with me at the time, because the heart-shaped treats would have made a great photo. Click here for the recipe.

    🍲 Trending Amish Suppers

Classic Oven-Baked Chicken: This is a go-to recipe many Amish kitchens. Click here.

Oven-Baked Round Steak: So delicious and simple, read more here: round steak is something that was part of my growing up. It was my grandmother's "go to" meat, along with hamburger and bologna. It was, and still is, a relatively cheap cut of meat that is very versatile. My grandmother would cook it and it as a stand-alone meal, but what she really liked to do was have cooked round steak mixed with her spaghetti sauce and meatballs. In fact, that was one the "secrets" to good spaghetti and meatballs, adding some round-steak to the sauce. But sometimes meals like this Amish Oven-Baked Round Steak were favorites also.   Click here for the recipe.

Mrs. Yoder's Dairy Casserole: This is a classic casserole, hearty and easy. Try this here!

    🍮 Trending Amish Desserts

    Butterscotch Cream Pie
    Rich, thick, creamy butterscotch pie

Homemade Butterscotch Cream Pie: It doesn't get much better than a pure, silky butterscotch pie: This one had a good thick later of butterscotch topped by a thinner layer of meringue.  I actually like it this way.  Too many meringue pies have a thick, thick layer of meringue with just a thin sliver of the favored flavor beneath. So kudos to Gastof's for getting it right.  I had eaten at Gastof's before, it's the first such restaurant one comes to when traveling east on US 50 in southern Indiana.  But there is a "Stoll's Amish Buffet" north of Loogootee, Indiana. Click here.

Maple syrup cookies, soft and sweet. Yum

Homemade Maple Syrup Cookies: These are super! And just in time for sugaring season, so not surprised it is trending. Click here!
