We have an easy - but no less delicious - recipe for you in this post, perfect for the holiday season!

🍫 The Amish and Christmas Candy
Christmas and the Amish means one thing: homemade candy and sweet treats! What the Amish lack in the trappings of a commercial Christmas, they make up for in culinary festivity. And one of the favorite goodies to make around Christmas are chocolate-dipped peanut butter balls. In Ohio, these are known as "buckeyes" becaues they kind of look like the seed of a Buckeye tree. But these are far tastier.
Let's walk you through how to make these!
📋 Step-by-Step Amish Peanut Butter Balls

It is amazing that such deliciousness can be achieved with four ingredients, but here we go!

This is the mixture after it has been creamed together. One of our readers said that her family adds Rice Krispies cereal at this point. And, wow, I think that's a great suggestion. You'd get like a Peanut Butter Ball Crunch. So if you want to try that variation, add a cup of cereal at this step. You should use an electric mixer, if you have one, for this step. Roll them into balls and stick into the freezer.

When the batter has firmed up after a couple of hours, roll into balls. Dip the balls into melted chocolate, place back into the freezer for a couple hours or overnight and then take out of the freezer and enjoy them cold or eat them at room temperature.

These are perfect for a festive holiday gathering, stick them on a decorative plate and let guests enjoy or, as many Amish do, put them in decorative tins and gift them as gifts to teachers, the mailman, or anyone else special.
