    🥛 Trending Drinks

Amish Egg Nog: Not a drop of alcohol in this egg nog recipe, so if you are looking for that kind, don't look here. But this is a good recipe!

    🍞 Trending Breads

Amish Cinnamon Raisin Bread: This is some good bread. Here's a bit more about it:

I am not a huge raisin bread fan but if you cover anything in enough icing it eventually becomes good. And this Amish Cinnamon Raisin Bread is no exception.  Of course if you like raisins then this bread has a double dose of delight for you: raisins and icing. This is a loaf of delicious icing smothered raisin bread that I picked up at an Amish bakery Indiana.  This Indiana Amish settlement has its roots in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, which is also where this recipe originates.

Welsh Cakes For Christmas: I found this recipe in the small Ohio town of Shandon and while this is not an Amish recipe, since it is on Amish365, it is trending with Christmas right around the corner. This is a good cake! Here is a bit more about the cake:

Today, Shandon’s history comes alive through the hands and griddle of Sian Stowe who could probably make Welsh Cakes in her sleep.  Stowe effortlessly combines the flour, butter, and allspice (see recipe in sidebar) that makes up this simple confection and then her hands seemingly seamlessly transform the mixture into a doughy ball, which she shapes and kneads.  Then the dough is cut, flattened and fried and the smell of these age-old overseas favorites sizzles into the air.  Welcome to Plas Cadnant, a bed and breakfast in Shandon named after an historic country estate in Wales.

Penny's Perfect Fudge: This is a delicious, melt-in-your-mouth fudge. Click here.

Christmas Cut-Out Cookies: This classic comes from The Amish Cook column about caroling and cookies, here is an excerpt:

Now since I'm married we enjoy having the young carolers come to our house singing for us. I wish you could join me watching them and listening to their songs. It's truly worth the show! Imagine a group of 12 children ages 4 - 12 all bundled up, braving the weather. The excitement levels soar high as they sing at the top of their lungs. The best part of all is when they sing "I said the Donkey." Some sing while the rest neigh like a donkey or bleat like cows and sheep. At the end of they all shout "Merry Christmas!" We quickly hand out some treats and they're on their way once more.
May each of you have a blessed Christmas and may God be glorified for sending Jesus to set us free from guilt and shame.

I love this phone because of its pure ingenuity and resourcefulness. The stove puts off a lot of heat, why not use the heat? So they built a "drying rack" above to put boots, shoes, socs etc on that get wet from the snow so they'll dry quickly up there. Some of those towels seem a little too close to the burners for my taste.
