Amish Bacon Treat: I discovered this popular recipe in the kitchen of an Amish woman in southeast Indiana, here's more about it:
This short recipe was scribbled on the back of another recipe an Amish woman sent me. Bacon seems so popular these days that I thought I should decipher it and share it with you. Bacon has never gone out of style in Amish kitchens, by the way. Butchering of pork is usually done in the winter and bacon is one of the favorites from that day.

Montana Wheat Bread: This is one of the easiest, and most tasty, loaves of homemade bread I've ever made! Here's a bit more about this recipe: I tried making this bread recipe with my daughters and, wow, it turned out so, so well. I vowed I'd make it again soon and I haven't. I think my problem is that if I am going to make a recipe at home, I usually figure that I might as well make a new one for the website. So I rarely repeat recipes at home, but this recipe was so easy, and so good, that I need find time to make it again. And you need much time to find with this one!

Delicious Amish Corn Bake: This is an amazing recipe. Read more about it here:
Corn is a delicious Amish dish, full of flavor and color. At a family gathering or a holiday supper, corn is usually a crowd-pleaser. Whether it is simply cooked and buttered or baked and battered, corn is a delicious side dish. This Amish corn bake is simple, fast, and flavorful, coming to us from an Amish cook in Holmes County, Ohio.
This corn bake recipe is one that has been around awhile on Amish365, but I didn’t have photos for it, so I decided to make it.
Easy Skillet Chicken Dressing: This is a fantastic recipe. Here is more about it:
This Easy Skillet Chicken Dressing is a recipe an Amish woman in Hardin County Ohio gave me recently. It iso simple, so delicious. But what was interesting to me is that she home-cans the stuffing ingredients ahead of time so that all she has to do, really, is have some leftover bread to put in a skillet and drump the stuffing in it heat up, and you have an instant meal. It really is a clever way to save time.
I have never heard of having home-canned dressing. This dish when you have everything prepared like she did, literally just takes minutes to make. But even if you don’t have it assembled preassembled like she did, it’s still really easy. And this type of dish is just so typical of Amish cooking. It’s simple, yet filling and fun.

Best Pudding Ever: Yeah, this pudding is probably the best I have ever had. Amazing stuff. Dorcas Raber said this dessert originated when a woman in her church used chocolate chip cookies instead of the graham crackers in the recipe she had gotten. “It really became a hit in our church,” she said. “Everyone just loves it.” Click here for the recipe.
