Wow, feast your eyes on below!

Absolutely amazing looking!  These are homemade strawberry pies being made at one of my favorite Plain bakeries, The Home Place outside of Georgetown, Ohio.  The Schlabach family runs an incredible bulk food, bakery, and furniture emporium there and, man, those strawberries look incredible.  Delbert Schlabach said they use a very basic recipe, the secret is in the strawberries, make sure you are using fresh, delicious, juicy ones....and then follow this recipe!

    OTHER GRAB BAG ITEMS:

    AMISH AMAZON

Green tomato relish:  This is Amish-made from Arthur, Illinois. Sounds really good to me as a summer condiment.  Click here.

Elderberry jam:  These sweet summer staples are revered by many Amish cooks, you can try some here!

Montezuma Mennonite Cookbook: I actually have this cookbook, it's a wonderful trove of Mennonite and Amish recipes with southern influences.  So imagine an Amish cookbook but with recipes for greens, peanuts, pecans, peaches, and all sorts of other southern staples.  There are used copies available for as little as $2.  You can grab one here.
