We are definitely seeing spring creeping into the trending recipes this week. Let's see which recipes are showing up in searches on Amish365 and getting the most clicks this week!

    🍳 Trending Amish Breakfast

This is the French toast as it came over the oven.

Classic Oven-Baked French Toast: Think about this one for Easter morning. This is so good: The real star of the show is the caramel-like mixture on the bottom of the pan. Good stuff. Heat the butter, sugar, and syrup on low and resist the urge to turn it up to medium, or you'll have a scorched, sticky pan to clean. Low works perfect. This recipe calls for 12 slices of bread, but our bread slices were pretty large. So we ended up using 8 - 9 slices, just fill the pan in double-deck fashion. We really enjoyed this recipe! Click here for the recipe.

    🥣 Trending Amish Soup

Brown Flour Potato Soup: This is a delicious one. Read more here: Old-fashioned brown flour potato soup is a very easy, scratch-made recipe. Recipes like this were once staples in Amish and Mennonite homes. This recipe comes to us from a Mennonite woman. And you don’t see recipes like this as much anymore. Certainly there’s still plenty of old-timers in Amish and Mennonite communities who fix recipes like this. And at it’s core, this is really just an old-fashioned potato soup. Still, the browned flour, and the scarcity of other ingredients in it, just point to it as an old-fashioned great depression dish Click here!

    🥗 Trending Amish Salad

Mennonite Mexican Corn Salad: This is so delicious! Click here.

    🍲 Trending Amish Main Dishes

Amish Scalloped Potatoes & Ham: A perfect Easter dish. Click here.

Hamburger & Potato Chip Casserole: Click here for this unique and delicious dish!

Delicious Chicken, Peas, and Rice: Chicken is the most popular meat in the United States, having gradually pulled ahead of beef sometime ago. Partly, the trend is driven by health considerations. There's just this perception that chicken is "healthier" than red meat. Not sure how true it is. Chicken, though, is also certainly one of the premier meat staples on the Amish menu. And recipes like this Amish Chicken with Peas and Rice lead the way.

Part of the reason for chicken's popularity among the Amish is that it’s just so accessible. Most Amish raise chickens, so there’s a plentiful supply of meat on hand at all times. The process of getting meat from chickens is messy, there’s the plucking involved, and it’s just a messy job.  Click here for the recipe.

    🥧 Trending Amish Desserts

    Homemade Strawberry Pie

Amish Strawberry Pie: Strawberries are a classic Amish spring staple and what better way than to merge them with another Amish staple: pie.  The result is a delicious, refreshing strawberry dessert.  Yum! I have had this pie on several occasions and it never fails to be a crowd-pleaser! Click here for recipe.

Vanilla Crumb Pie: So good. One of my favorites!
