This Amish Steak and Egg Casserole recipe is a delicious, great casserole. Sometimes you have to use your imagination. And so many Amish casseroles are chicken and noodles or beef and beans or chicken and rice, so sometimes it is tough to find a combination that’s different but also delicious.

This “steak and egg “casserole fits the bill for different but delicious.  I've had dishes like this before and it, well, I love them. I think eggs and hamburger are a great combination and with the flavor and spices and bread you get pure amazingness!

Of course, you could use steak in this recipe if you want something more high-end, or just use hamburger (many Amish call hamburger "hamburger steak", hence the title of this recipe). Whatever beef you decide to use with this recipe, you won't go wrong, because the flavor mix and melding is super. And this recipe is super simple.

I actually think I tried this very supper once at an Amish home years and years ago, back in the 1990s. I wish I had a better photo, but you see the finished dish above. A nice, hearty "steak and egg" combination.

The instructions on this recipe are pretty straightforward: mix everything together and plop into a  casserole.  There's no layering of bread or even saving the cheese for the top, according to the instructions.  It's just one giant "mix meal" which, for me, would be awesome. I love those types of meals.

And note the instructions about putting the casserole in a pan of water while baking, that'll keep the bread and egg from drying out too much while baking.  So, enjoy!
