    šŸ„’ Trending Amish Canning

Easy Amish Dill Pickles: This is summer and that means home-canning, making pickles, and homemade jams. How about trying some homemade pickles? Here is some detail:

I am not a huge pickle fan, but I do like fresh, crisp pickles…not the soggy, limp kind on a McDonald's burger. Yuck. But a fresh from the garden dill pickle.  This is a jar from a Swartzentruber Amish family in Ohio that my sister-in-law picked up last week and here's an easy recipe to make your own!

Thick N Chunky Homemade Salsa: A super way to use up tomatoes! Click here.

Delicious Breakfast Cake: A super way to start the day!

    šŸ— Trending Amish Suppers

Hamburger and Potato Chip Casserole: This is a delicious, super supper: My parents made the recipe the other night and they really enjoyed it.  Just one of these tasty, hearty calorie-packed suppers that Amish farmers and craftsmen need to fuel themselves through their days. Click here for the recipe.

Old Lady On a Bus Chicken: This is definitely a supper worth trying! Here is more about the recipe:

Okay, this recipe gets its name from a conversation, which included a recipe, that a Mennonite woman overheard between "two old ladies on a bus near Atlanta." (what the Mennonite woman was doing in Atlanta on a bus never was explained)  The recipe then became a favorite of Mennonite women in Dayton, Virginia.

What really gives this chicken its kick is the orange juice in the sauce. Click here for the recipe.

    Coca-Cola Pie

Coca-Cola Pie: I think everyone probably knows what I think about this one! Click here for the recipe.

Malinda's Amish Carrot Cake: This is super: Even people who don't like to eat their veggies can often stomach carrot cake.  And, hey, we all the cake is a healthy thing to eat, after all, it has carrots in it, right?  Um...yea, I wish it worked that way. I think all the sugar and the thick layer of cream cheese frosting negates any potential health benefits.  But, wow, is this a delicious way to get your carrots.  Yuh-um! This is a cake carrot cake with cream cheese frosting that I picked up at an Amish bakery today.  Good stuff Click here.
