Time for our weekly whirl through the blogosphere in search of anything and everything Amish. We have some interesting and delicious stops today, so enjoy!
CAPTION: Drumstick pudding!
DRUMSTICK PUDDING: Man, I had not thought about Drumsticks in forever. Those frozen ice cream treats that are carried in most ice cream freezers. As ice cream goes they are, in my opinion, just so-so, but as a pudding? Mmmm, sounds amazing, check it out here.
GLAZED BABY CARROTS: Check out this recipe from Charm City Ramblings. I'm not a huge carrots fan, but these might be passable for me! Click here.
CHERYL MCNULTY: I thought about it before posting because, geez, bookmarks aren't something I use because, since becoming a Dad, I barely have time to read anymore. Maybe in a few years. But these bookmarks that Cheryl has made incorporating her artwork are quite striking. No, I don't get a commission if you buy them, I'm just plugging them because I do think they are beautiful pieces of work. If I read books anymore, I'd definitely grab some of these. Sheesh, I used to read AND write books, now...it's all diapers and drool! Click here.
AMISH SCHOOL KIDS SINGING: Erik Wesner has a video on his site of Amish school children singing. As is always the case when I hear Amish singing, the harmony is amazing. Click here for this treat of a video.
BLOG SPIN: PENNSYLVANIA AMISH CHOCOLATE? This week's random "blog spin" turned a blog post from a few years ago showcasing a curious candy wrapper. Does anyone remember or know anything about this chocolate? The author muses that Amish were probably involved in the making of the chocolate but I have my doubts. My hunch is that this was just some early "marketing savvy" by a Pennsylvania company trading in on the Amish name. But I could be completely wrong. If you know anything, let me know! Click here to see the wrappers.
