Let's visit with some of our blog friends this week to check out anything Amish (or tasty) out there!

MRS. ADA YODER'S CHERRY PUDDING:  Man, I am not a huge cherry fan, but I think this pudding looks amazing.  Now, when I think of pudding, I usually think of a chilled, creamy, whipped pudding in a glass dish with whipped cream. But like most Amish puddings, this is a baked one...and, yeah, it just looks really, really good. Click here for the recipe.

BBQ CHICKEN SLIDERS:  Some good stuff here....I mean, who would not like BBQ chicken sliders?  Check out Dixie's Kitchen this week for her easy, quick recipe!

SUMMER BLESSINGS:  We've been following Gina, a young Mennonite mom and blogger, for a while now and she's battled plenty of tribulations over the past years...I'm glad to read posts that show she's at a more peaceful place. Click here to check in.

NEBRASKA AMISH:  Well, we have discussed on this site that the "Nebraska Amish" aren't really in Nebraska...they are found primarily in Pennsylvania and are identified by their white-topped buggies and are often noted as among the most conservative Amish.  So I found these photos from a Nebraska Amish auction fascinating....I was surprised to see firearms...while the Amish are typically pacifists, there are plenty of Amish that hunt using rifles, but these seemed like more than just hunting rifles.  The white shirts are interesting and the pies, wow, they look incredible.  Check out all of these photos on Amish America here!

BRUCE STAMBAUGH: I love all of his writing, so I encourage you to check it out...but I wanted to share this photo of an Old Order Mennonite school at sunset.  I've spent some time at this very school and it features in a book that maybe someday I'll actually finish writing.....click here to see the photo!
