Amish Sandwiches

Sometimes life is best between the bread, and Amish cooks know this. That is why sandwiches are so popular among the Amish.

Basically, rule #15 of Amish cooking: everything can be served on bread! From sloppy pot roast sandwiches to apple butter and pickle sandwiches, and everything in between, bread is king on the Amish farm. And nothing utilizes bread better than sandwiches.

Sandwiches are served for breakfast, packed into lunch pails, and BLTs are popular for supper. And then there is the ever popular Amish church peanut butter and marshmallow fluff sandwiches. And there are popular summer sandwiches, like summer cheese toasties.
