We have a slate of good stuff today to share on blogroll.
GINA'S MOCHA CAKE: Gina at the Home Joys blog had a wonderful recipe to share this week. I know it's got to be tough for her to continue blogging with her husband's condition worsening, I admire her tenacity, so I am happy to send some blog traffic her way. She posted an amazing looking and sounding recipe for "mocha cake." Click here if you want an amazing recipe.
SCENES FROM PINECRAFT: Florida's only Amish enclave is emptying out as snowbirds head north and a few stragglers enjoy some last sun. Katie just does such an amazing job of capturing the life and times of Pinecraft. I love the laundry photo, so bright and colorful, the photo of the Amish woman cleaning gutters, well, all the photos are just super. TOPEKA GENERAL STORE: This is a new store that has opened in a small Indiana Amish town, the store caters heavily to the Amish but also tourists. I think this store will quickly become a hit on the tourist circuit as it seems to showcase Amish life respectfully. Click here to read this post from My Amish Indiana.
BLOG SPIN: AMISH APPLE FRITTER BREAD: Wow...I found this blog post...the blogger identifies it as an Amish recipe and it really looks amazing. She positions it as a perfect holiday recipe, but I could see this being something absolutely incredible any time of year. Apple fritters are a decadent favorite but they are a bit labor intensive to make, this bread gives you the flavor without the frying. Click here for this recipe.
250 AMISH MEN MOVE A BARN - This is fun to watch, I had tried to link to this last week but somehow had the wrong link, so let's check it out on Amish America. Click here.
BLOGSPIN - MEEMAW'S SNICKERDOODLE BARS: Wow, I don't have words, really.....don't these look incredible? Meemaw blogs from Kalona, Iowa, one of the state's largest Amish settlements and her recipes are heavily Amish influenced....you have to try these! Click here.
